On the 3rd of March we went to Macclesfield to take part in the protest there organised by Save Our Waterways; there were a whole string of them round the country. SOW was formed to add grass roots support to the campaign to have the inland waterways of Britain adequately funded, and particularly to try to undo the damage caused by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, which chose to cut funding to British waterways in the middle of the financial year. Lots more info on the SOW website.
After the weekend we went back to Poynton for a further week, then were able to set off on our travels again, once the Bosley Lock flight had reopened.
