After spending December in and around Poynton, we set off for the north end of the Trent and Mersey in the New Year. If you want pictures of Poynton in the winter, there's some here. We had a good trip down Bosley Locks, enlivened by the sight of BW attempting to sink one of their work boats, as I recorded in the blog at the time.
The bottom lock, although not scheduled for a stoppage this year, nonetheless needed some attention. This water streaming into the lock is in fact coming through the stonework from the pound above, a situation which will not improve with time.
