After a year afloat

There's a separate piece about blacking for those who are considering the DIY approach. This is what the hull looked like after pressure washing. The standard advice is to renew the blacking after a year, and then every two years, unless the hull has been grit blasted and treated with two part epoxy black. As can be seen, most of it comes off the first time, because the mill scale on the steel comes off and takes the blacking with it.
