The partitions or bulkheads are ash veneered birchfaced ply, providing substantial boards with two high quality faces. Also to be seen here is the lining of the side hatches. Close examination of the base of the hull side linings shows that it doesn't quite meet the subfloor. The resulting gap will be concealed in open areas, but will remain where not visible inside cupboards, under the bed and the like. This encourages airflow under the subfloor, ventilating the bilges.
